WHAT ARE CARBICOTE STRIPPABLE OR PEELABLE SPRAY BOOTH COATINGS?
Paint spray booths get dirty very quickly and get covered in overspray. Carbicote Spray Booth Coatings are a preventative means to avoid damage and insure paint spray booth integrity by being applied to walls, ceilings, lights and floors. These coatings are used for spray booth protection. After application and painting use, the coating is periodically peeled off to remove all of the hazardous accumulation of paint overspray that sticks to the coating and NOT to the walls, ceilings, lights and floors. After being easily peeled off, a new coat is then applied to maintain protection of the booth.
WHY USE STRIPPABLE OR PEELABLE COATINGS?
Overspray builds up over time in an paint spray booth. Excess buildup can create a fire hazard, increase rejects due to dirt and reduce visibility especially when overspray covers windows and lights. When parts are spray painted, not all of the spray mist contacts the part. Much of this mist in the form of “overspray” ends up deposited onto booth walls, lights and the floor.
Any accumulation of overspray is hazardous because any wet paint underneath a dry surface , if left untreated, can create a flammability hazard, and possibly spontaneous combustion.
Overspray that accumulates contains dust, dirt and debris that are circulated in the booth due to the booth exhaust fans. This can create an inhalation hazard for unprotected workers and may also contaminate parts.
Carbicote temporary peelable or strippable coatings protect the paint spray booth surfaces from this overspray and also increase visibility and safety and improves the worker environment leading to increased morale.
Carbicote Booth Coatings are periodically peeled or “stripped” when soiled during regularly scheduled booth maintenance. Then new strippable coatings are reapplied.
The accumulation of paint overspray inside a spray-booth is UNSAFE and UNPRODUCTIVE.
